SHCC Member Jack Mattison to be Honored
Jack Mattison, a Shadow Hills Country Club member since 1996, will be inducted into South Eugene High School’s Axemen Athletics Hall of Fame this fall. He will be honored at a banquet at the Valley River Inn, Saturday, Sept. 27.
Mattison is a 1958 graduate of South Eugene, earning honors during his high school days for both academics and athletics. He retired in 2002 after 22 years as a District and Circuit Court Judge in Lane County.

Named to the all-state team in his final two years at South, he was the state champion in 1957 and finished third in his senior year. Jack was a National Honor Society member while in high school.
Mattison, who earned his law degree from the University of Oregon in 1968, played three years of varsity golf at Oregon State and another at New Mexico, playing in two NCAA tournaments in his collegiate career.
Mattison has won several SHCC club championships. He and his wife Kay have two sons, both of whom also graduated from South Eugene and participated in athletics.
