Shadow Hills CC Luau 2018 Results

In what has turned out to be the most popular golf/social event for 2018, the Luau had more than 240 participants this year!  The best part of the Crazy 8 scramble format, is that it brings together loads of couples who may not play together regularly, for an evening of fun, loose competition, and unforeseen results!

As a member of one of the Net Winning teams, we had the chance to see this concept if practice.  We had a huge range of handicaps in our group, and benefited from at least one person hitting the right shot at the right time, or sinking a put that kept is at par.  As it turned out, the “winning shot” came from Megan Shultz, who hit the flag on her tee shot on #4, and having the ball almost go in, left it close enough for an easy 2 footer, and the KP.

In the end, it was that birdie, along with one other that made the difference.  But, the resounding jump of joy, punctuated by screams and laughter from Megan (her first KP), was the real reward for the rest of the team!

In a nod to “It’s Not All About Winning at the Luau! ” Gary added two “Highest Scores” winning teams. They may not have had the lowest scores…but, may have had the most fun!

The staff went way above the call of duty once again…with amazing food, and overtime work at the cart/club care area, to say nothing of Gary’s ability to “find a place” for an over-stuffed field of participants.  GREAT JOB to all involved!

Next Year…we may have to start 15 minutes earlier…as the final hole was played in near darkness!!!
