Highlights from Dave and Jenny’s Retirement Reception
An overflow crowd attended Dave and Jenny’s retirement reception on April 3rd, to recap an overwhelmingly successful 16 years of service to Shadow Hills CC.
Starting off with an introduction by current Board President, Marilyn France, it was officially MC’d by longtime board President and committee member, Jim Creech. After several brief stories about Dave and Jenny’s work at Shadow Hills, the event was turned over to Patric Miller, who presented a “History of the Shelton Era” video (see link below).
Following the video, several members spoke of their gratitude, and personal stories of Jenny’s helpfulness and creativity, as well as Dave’s dedication to making significant changes to Shadow Hills that will last for generations to come. And before Dave gave his closing remarks, new General Manager Ryan Wyckoff voiced his appreciation for working with Dave, as well as his beliefs that the club will continue to improve on the legacy that Dave and Jenny created.
Several, “Thank you gifts” were presented; by the board (a generous bonus check), several of the GMs who worked with Dave (a signed Aaron Rodgers Superbowl MVP Jersey) and a gift certificate for Jenny to Gray’s Gardens, a well as a signed SHCC flag from the staff, and a framed Register Guard article from Jim Hukill, from the huge interview done when the new clubhouse opened.
It was a wonderful day, with gratitude, laughs, and a few tears abounding.
We all wish Dave and Jenny success in their “newly retired” state, and look forward to seeing them on the course, as members!
