New Mask Requirements Mandated by State for SHCC

Due to the recent rise in new Covid-19 cases in the state, and a significant rise in cases in Lane County, the State has mandated more stringent rules regarding the wearing of masks for the entire State of Oregon.  This necessitates a change to our current mask policy for the club.
The primary changes are a mandate for wearing masks indoors, anywhere in our facility. In a press release it was stated, “The statewide requirements starts on July 1st, and will require residents to don facial protection at locations like grocery stores, shopping centers, and restaurants and bars while not eating or drinking.”
This means that all members will be required to wear a mask in the clubhouse, the pro shop, and in all indoor dining areas. Masks are also suggested for outdoor dining with larger groups, but will not be required.
In a written statement Tuesday, Governor Brown stated, “I do not want to have to close down businesses again like other states are now doing. If you want your local shops and restaurants (and businesses) to stay open, then wear a face covering when out in public.”
While we acknowledge the inconvenience of wearing a mask, due to the influx of members traveling to and from other states and social situations, we also want to err on the side of caution. Please honor this request. We have no choice in the matter, and do not want to ask a member to leave the premises over non-compliance.
Your cooperation for the safety of others, and in protecting our club, is greatly appreciated.

Sand and Seed Party has been Cancelled

Due to continued concerns about large group gatherings with current COVID restriction, we will need to cancel the Scheduled Sand and Seed Party.  While social distancing on the course would be possible, the Bar-B-Cue following would be difficult to manage.  We will reschedule for later date.

Phone Service Update
The switchover to the new phone carrier and new phone system is taking longer than expected. It is reported that we won’t be fully over to our new provider until July 9th.  So, please be patient with the temporary setup we are forced to use until then.

Ball Washers and Bunker Rakes Returning

As we slide into “Phase II” of our Covid Policies, we are adding back Ball Washers and Bunker Rakes to our regular operations.  It is YOUR OPTION to use these or not, as your degree of comfort with these items is entirely up to you.  At least for the time being, raking is optional, but appreciated. And, “clean balls” are entirely your choice…(let the jokes begin).

Reservations Required for ALL Dining
While we are happy to have dining back (with some restrictions) it is important to remember that as part of the State’s Covid-19 Policies, we need to track all dining activities. This applies to the lounge as well as the patio! You must call ahead for reservations, so we can maintain limitations on occupancy, as well as meet the tracking requirements set by the state.

Pool Set to Re-Open – with Restrictions
The Pool: Our current plan is to open the pool on TOMMORROW, June 5th . This will be for Members and Immediate Family Only. At this time non-family guests are not allowed. Hours will be 11 to 7 open 7 days a week. We feel that the pool provides social spacing and according to the CDC there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine) of pools should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.
Your full cooperation will be appreciated!
