TOPIC: Concepts on Chipping and Pitching: Running vs. Stopping Shots

Please plan to attend our upcoming clinic covering techniques on “Chipping
and Pitching”. We’ll provide ideas and information as well as answers to
questions you might have about how to improve your scoring technique from
around the green; we’ll discuss methods and swing motions to get the ball
close to the cup from various lies and under challenging conditions. You’ll
want to discover & utilize these beneficial concepts to lower your scores and
increase enjoyment… “a good approach saves par even if you miss the green.”

At this clinic, we will discuss…

• The difference between height and spin, and how to manage both.

• Effective techniques to manage ‘landing area’, ‘travel’, ‘destination’.

• The application and difference between ‘check’, ‘release’, and ‘run’.

• Managing various ground conditions & methods to master ‘tough lies’.
Just show up at the Pro-Shop with your #7 iron, #9 iron, and wedges. We

The Titleist Performance Institute is the the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Since its inception in 2003, TPI has studied thousands of golfers ranging from the top professional tour players to weekend enthusiasts. An incredible amount of data on players of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels has been gathered during this time.

Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

We at Shadow Hills are lucky to have our own TPI Certified Trainer in Nick Mainenti. During a recent “Introduction to TPI” seminar, Nick outlined the advantages of the TPI system for swing evaluation, strength and conditioning.  And now, Nick is offering a special TPI training package for Shadow Hills Country Club members.

Play Your Best Golf

Shadow Hills Country Club is committed to helping its members play their best golf through the improvement of their golf skills, flexibility, strength, and endurance. Golfers are free to use the club’s facilities to improve their golf skills and fitness, or sign up for lessons or workout sessions with one of our Golf and Fitness Instructors.

Playing Your Best Golf begins with fitness and practice. Our Driving Range and Practice Facilities are expansive and unique. Our Fitness Center is fully equipped, with weights, machines for aerobic exercise, stretch bands, and a golf-specific stretching apparatus.

Shadow Hills is proud of its team of professional golf coaches. They provide individual and group instruction for golfers at all skill and age levels. Jim Dodd to Offer Two “Play Better Golf” Clinics

Two new golf clinics with PGA Teaching Pro, Jim Dodd, have been scheduled.
The first, scheduled for 2PM Friday September 18th, is on “Swing Tempo.” Your tempo can alter everything from club speed and accuracy, to distance.

The second, scheduled for Monday, September 28th at 2PM, will cover the concept of “Trail Side Management” which encompasses swing mechanics, swing sequence, and reducing back strain and pain in your swing. Your “trail side” is what happens to your body through and after the swing, and can be the difference between a safe, accurate swing, and one that leaves you in pain the next day!

For either, just come to the Pro Shop, and the location will be determined by class size.
$10 fee for each clinic.
