Tuesday, October 31, was the last day of organized play for the 9-hole ladies. It was a beautiful day weather-wise to play a team card game. Suits were assigned to each of the four team players. At the back of the green was a playing card that indicated the suit’s score to use for that hole. The winning team was Amy Bennett , Lori Reynolds, Carol Crumlish and Sue GraVette. Women’s Club Holiday & Charity Luncheon Review and Pics

Women’s Club Holiday & Charity Luncheon
Sue GraVette, Chair

Once again the Holiday luncheon on December 7th was a huge success. From the wonderful food, excellent service, many volunteers and interactive entertainment to the rewards for our beneficiary, Courageous Kids, the staff and 106 members and guests out did themselves.

There were several ways to give to the charity and, as usual, guests were very generous. You could buy a bottle of wine from the wine grab table thanks to those many members who donated wine. You could take a chance via raffle tickets for two quilts and two wall hangings donated by Shadow Hill’s own creative and talented Club House Quilters, or you could just place a donation in a tabletop box. Courageous Kids, a grief support program for youth, does not charge for their services, but depend solely on grants and donations. They were presented with a gift of $2866 from this event.

Patric Miller stepped up once again to provide entertainment. Not only did he lead a sing-a-long of some golf related Christmas tunes, but he also starred in a Radio Play called An Unlikely Foursome, which he wrote. A few good sports helped out with that: Melinda Rausch, Suzi Creech, Nancy Moore and me.

Corrie Gelardi and Ryan McDonnell provided complimentary wine and holiday spirits tasting. Hearts for Hospice for set up a little shopping corner. The sale of their treasures brought nearly $900 to that charity.

It wouldn’t have happened without a great committee. Thank you Lori Reynolds, Amy Bennett, Shawn Bokn, Jeri Kessler, Sharon Bowers, Connie Green and Nancy Moore.

Employee Appreciation Party Recap and Pics

header
It is with a great sense of gratitude that the SHCC Women’s Club stages an annual “Employee Appreciation” party at the end of the season. This year’s party was held on Monday, Sept 20th, and the weather cooperated to make it a fun and rewarding event for all all who attended.

There were games of skill, games for fun, prize drawings and loads of food and beverages, with two lucky employees winning the “grand prizes” of $100 cash each!

The Women’s Club would like to thank all who donated to the prizes, as well as those who volunteered to help stage the event.  Our employees work hard to keep the members happy, and the course and facility looking great all year. This is a small token of our gratitude for their efforts!

SHCC Women’s Invitational Recap and Pics

IMG_6141

We had a full field of 128 golfers for our 43rd Annual Shadow Hills Women’s Tournament. The players represented 35 difference golf clubs from four states. The four flights were divided into two team divisions – A/B players and C/D. We also had long drives, kp’s, closest to the line, etc., so everyone had a chance for the many pay outs presented at the luncheons.

It was another successful year thanks to the Invitational Committee and the many Shadow Hills employees that enriched the experience for our guests.

Overall winners: Low Gross of the Field- Leilani Norman (72/74), Low Net of the Field- Leslie Misensol (68/69) and Low Gross Super Senior- Nettie Morrison (77/84)

Women’s Beach Party Bash Highlights and Pics

DSC_0005
The women of Shadow Hills enjoyed a great afternoon poolside on Wednesday June 1.

Women’s Club President, Nancy Moore, chaired a small committee that planned a great event including perfect weather.  You can see by the smiles in the photos that it was a good time.

Highlights included a BBQ lunch featuring a special cocktail, lawn games, bobbing in the pool or just relaxing in the shade. Winners of the miniature golf event were the team of Mary “had a little lamb” Sullivan and “polka dot” Pam Van Voorhis.

It was warm enough that even those that did not plan to enter the pool did so – clothes and all.
